OSP Pre-certification numbers
Hospital construction
specifications in California now widely require OSP special seismic
certification. Recently Energy Labs, IEC, and McQuay have secured
pre-certification that ensures their equipment meets OSHPD standards in
advance of purchase and installation.

International Environmental
(IEC)
We'd like to show you the energy
saving advantages of the IEC Sureflow® system, so
call or
email us now for an appointment for a lunch-'n-learn session.
Sureflow® is a self-balancing system that eliminates control valves, uses
less pipe and fewer fittings, resulting in simpler, lower cost installations
that are self-commissioning and use less energy. Read the Sureflow®
brochure at the right, or

Labs Factory Tour

We encourage all of our clients to take advantage of the plant's nearby
location to see the factory in person (click
here to contact our office to arrange a visit soon!), but for a preview you
are welcome to take the virtual tour by
clicking on the picture here. Energy Labs builds fully custom air
handling units, including round units, units to fit around existing building
structural columns, light weight aluminum units, units with walk-in service
vestibules, stacked units, units that are pre-piped, down-shot chilled water,
and 3-deck multi-zone units. Units can be built to match existing AHU
footprints, or they can be built in sections to fit through doorways or into
elevators and then reassembled indoors for retro-fit applications. Energy Labs
can also mount controls provided by others within the confines of the unit, or
they can design, purchase, and install open protocol DDC systems within the
unit. |

Strobic
Air
Fume Exhaust Fans
On a recent project, specified around a competitor's plastic, belt drive,
centrifugal fan in the typical utility set arrangement with integral exhaust
stack, we had occasion, through a contractor, to compare the installed cost of
that arrangement with the Strobic fan. When considering our Strobic arrangement,
the contractor was able to eliminate certain construction requirements required
by the utility set approach. These included concrete under the fans, inlet
flex, vibration isolation, inlet plenum platforms, reduced footprint, and less
steel.
With these savings, the Strobic fans cost slightly less on an installed
basis. However, had the Strobic fans been specified, and the owners
allowed to get full credit for these savings, the installed cost for Strobic
would have been far lower. Remember, the Strobic fans
-
sit
on top of, not along side of the inlet plenum,
-
are direct drive, eliminating the need for vibration isolation,
-
typically use a motor one size smaller,
-
and have a smaller footprint.
Your DMG Salesman can demonstrate the difference in the two layout
arrangements and explain and illustrate why the Strobic fans cost less on an
installed basis. Click here or on
the picture above left to view a cost comparison of Strobic vs. conventional
centrifugal fans.

Breaking
News at McQuay!
The
new line of AGZ-C Air-Cooled Scroll Chillers with R-410A refrigerant is now
available! Model AGZ-C chillers meet or exceed the performance requirements of
ASHRAE Standard 90.1 for efficiency, and use the environmentally acceptable
R-410A refrigerant. With either two or three scroll compressors per refrigerant
circuit, excellent part-load performance is achieved. These units feature lower
sound levels and smaller footprints in some sizes, continuing McQuay's legacy of
high quality, high efficiency, and quiet operation.

McQuay Chiller and Condensing Units
In Stock and Ready to Ship
McQuay chillers and condensing units are in stock and ready to ship to the
job site - even hard to find models such as air cooled chillers above 200 tons
and centrifugal chillers, even frictionless, magnetic bearing compressor
chillers.
